As an “Institute for Advanced Studies” connected to the research institutions located in the Loire Valley (France), LE STUDIUM® wishes to accompany the efforts made by the “Cosmetic Valley” cluster, whose aim is to develop joint research and industrial approaches in Cosmetics and Pharmaceutics.

The “Cosmetics and Pharmaceutics: New Trends in Biophysical Approaches” STUDIUM CONFERENCE aims to help the technology transfer from research to the industrial scale and to update the knowledge in the fields of biophysics, chemistry, biochemistry applied to cosmetics and pharmaceutics. It will gather renowned academy and industry experts and will offer a unique chance to tackle and debate the latest topics, issues, trends and challenges of the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. For this purpose, the scientific program will cross advanced fundamental research fields such as protein denaturation, bioprotective molecular mechanisms, interface chemical processes, spectroscopic and simulation techniques.

In addition, since the conference will be held during the 2001 International Year of Chemistry, it will give a special highlight on the links between biophysics, biochemistry and chemistry.

The conference will include plenary sessions, oral presentations, poster sessions and a round table. Special care will be taken to facilitate a more effective dialogue between actors from completely different horizons. In addition to the participation of internationally recognized seniors scientists, the conference will encourage the participation of young researchers via a devoted poster session.

The Conference will take place in Orleans, in the hearth of the Centre region of France, a leading region in cosmetics and pharmaceutics.
