Our school has a protected wetland-the Gully, behind our school. We have an environmental group devoted to promoting the Wetlands, and has expanded this to initiate many enivornmental projects. Through the auspices and support of Cape Farewell, we sent a student and teacher on a three-week trip to the Arctic-Greenland-Iceland and northern Canada, specifically to study the effects of global warming.
We are fortunate to have a vision of the Atlantic Ocean from our school. In fact, we look out at Iceberg Alley. Many times we see huge icebergs from our classroom windows, and later, we may see a huge pod of whales.
Water is essential to us all! What greater common denominator to unite us all. We have 700 students in our school, with grades 7 - 12.
Our Science Department is awesome!
We will work to generate interest.
All the best for a great year!
