In the fall of 2011 (October 1st-October 16th) the City of Bergamo, located in Northern Italy, will host the 9th Edition of the Science Festival “BergamoScienza". The Festival’s aim is to popularize science among young people, students, professionals and citizens who are interested in many of the most crucial aspects of the scientific debate today.
The BergamoScienza Festival is organized from The “Associazione BergamoScienza”, an independent association founded by a group of citizens together with the University of San Raffaele of Milan, the University of Bergamo, the Chamber of Commerce, the Association of the Industrialists along with other private Institutions of the City and Province of Bergamo.
The goals of this non profit association are to promote cultural events related to the public understanding of science and to develop opportunities for direct engagement, in particular of students, in projects of education and formation. The association is neither political nor religious. The Scientific Board has as Honorary President, the Nobel Laureate Rita Levi Montalcini and the Chairman is Edoardo Boncinelli, a world-known molecular neurobiologist.
