In the academic year 2010/11 student environmental group KUL's initiative to organize a student from scratch wheels dealing with chemical problems. With the support of employees of the Department of Chemistry was founded Student Scientific Chemistry Circle "Redox". Difficult task of conducting a new student organization started by Dr. Robert Mroczek, who became its first curator. At the stage of the organization creating the circle and the program organizational structure together with the tutor, students developed the objectives and principles of functioning.
The main idea is to broaden the activities circle knowledge of its members in the field of chemical sciences and its practical applications in environmental protection, biotechnology, materials engineering, etc., and the acquisition of practical skills in the chemistry lab. The new organization brings together people who are open to work with enthusiasm, is opposed to stereotypical perceptions of student interest in environmental protection and biotechnology. It is only this type of Circle at the Catholic University of Lublin.
In a very short time after the registration of students in the parliament KUL, chemical workshops were organized for high school students from classes before and matura. Youth Lublin high schools had the opportunity to undergo practical training in the laboratory of the Institute of Environmental KUL.
Research topics are determined individually and adapted to student interests. From next academic year is planned to start practical laboratory classes according to the agreed program. Particular emphasis is placed on the loopholes that have arisen during the implementation of the standard curriculum in the course of study and individual creativity in the preparation, development and execution of laboratory experiments. Skills acquired during the course will bring tangible benefits in the preparation of the undergraduate, graduate, workshops, conferences, festivals, science and eventually raise the qualifications of the graduate labor market.
