Encourage interest of young people in chemistry
SITN is a graduate student group at Harvard University that aims to promote the appreciation and understanding of science in the general public, through an annual lecture series, a biweekly online public newsletter (the SITN Flash), science cafes, and other similar activities.
The Flash has just published a special edition to celebrate IYC2011, with a variety of articles written by graduate students, focusing on current developments in various areas of chemistry and their impact on health, environment, and other aspects of our lives and society.
By establishing a link to the wider IYC2011 community, we are hoping to greatly increase the readership of the publication, increasing its impact and reaching a wider audience to better promote public appreciation and understanding of chemistry.
