The Wrexham Science Festival was established in 1998 and has since become an integral part of the local community, as well as a key event for science enthusiasts from throughout Wales, the North West of England and the Midlands.

Attracting over 10,000 visitors a year, the Festival features events aimed at schools, businesses and the general public, designed to inform, educate and get people thinking about a range of science and technology-related topics.

This 2011 Festival will take place from Thursday 14th - Friday 22nd July. The themes for this year's Festival are: Earth and the Universe, The Animal World, Human Mind and Body and Bright Sparks. All events in the programme will be related to one of these four themes. We will also be holding special events to celebrate the International Year of Chemistry and the International Year of Forests.

The Wrexham Science Festival's principal objectives are: to challenge peoples’ thinking about science and their relationship to it; to give every individual the opportunity to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics and their implications (without being held back by barriers such as finance, accessibility issues and intimidation through lack of knowledge); to promote a shared vision of science and technology as instrumental to a vital society and thriving economy.
