Mark is process chemistry consultant for INEOS Nitriles in suburban Chicago. He holds an A.B. in chemistry from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. His research interests include homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, kinetics and mechanisms of organic reactions, and molecular modeling for the design of new catalysts. He has taught college-level courses at Ursuline College and John Carroll University. In IUPAC, Mark is past-Chair and current member of the Committee on Chemistry and Industry, a member of the IUPAC Division of Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry, a member of the Management Committee for the International Year of Chemistry, and coordinator of the IUPAC Safety Training Program.
