The National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) is the national organisation for accreditation of technical operations such as laboratories, inspection bodies, proficiency testing scheme providers and reference material producers.

NATA provides accreditation for over 500 chemical testing laboratories as well as numerous other facilities related to the field of chemistry.

Each year NATA conducts a national competition for primary schools - The NATA Young Scientists of the Year Award. In recognition of IYC2011, the theme this year will be "Chemistry in our Lives". The competition will be launched in early May and winners will be announced in mid-October.

It is our intention to seek recognition of the 2011 NATA Young Scientists of the Year Award and an IYC2011 event.
