Tercer Milenio ( is a weekly science supplement in a local newspaper called Heraldo de Aragón. Its eight pages are devoted to public dissemination of science, scientific research and Research & Development.

During the International Year of Chemistry, we have a contest: Enigmas moleculares. Once a month, we invite our readers to solve a chemical enigma.

Name of activity: Contest 'Enigmas moleculares'.

Time: From february to december 2011, International Year of Chemistry.

Subject: Chemical enigma contest.

Additional information:

Thanks to the sponsorship of Aragón Government and Ibercaja, this science issue is distributed free of charge in High Schools, University departments, research centres, enterprises and libraries.

From 1993, Tercer Milenio’s aims are to make visible to the audience the research activity made in Aragón and to connect people with new technologies and scientific progress. We can imagine our working method as a bridge, a journalistic bridge. It is a double way bridge since public is not the only one who approaches science. Scientists are invited to write articles. If necessary, guidance is offered to them to change their language in order to achieve efficient communication. So they approach society too. Thanks to this expert cooperation, we are able to make a rigorous but also pleasant supplement. It is coordinated by Pilar Perla.

The excellence of Tercer Milenio has been recognized by several awards such as the CSIC Award of Scientific Journalism 1998 and the Special Jury Award of the House of Sciences Prisms to Dissemination, in 2002. One of Tercer Milenio’s articles was nominated to the European Union Descartes Award.
