IYC Interests:Encourage interest of young people in chemistry
We are a charity supporting the education of children in Kumasi, Ghana, through sponsorship and by promoting friendship and educational exchange with the UK.
Our core purpose is to sponsor children in Ghana through education.
Our special project for 2011, led by Fitzwimarc School in Rayleigh, Essex in the UK, is to kit out a classroom at The City of Kumasi School, Ghana, with basic science equipment to enable the children to conduct experiments. Currently, science teaching at the school is textbook-based, which denies most children the joy of experiencing chemistry through doing.
We would be happy to link with the IYC in any way that would be beneficial to our aims. Please check out our website, http://www.learninglinkghana.org, or contact me, the Charity Secretary, if you would like any more information.
