Biography of Mohammed LACHKAR

Mohammed LACHKAR was born in Tanger, Morocco in 1960. He obtained his PhD in 1988 in the group of Raymond WEISS in Strasbourg (France) on the synthesis and study of Phthalocyanins and Porphyrins of cerium III and IV. He joined the Faculté des Sciences de Fès (Morocco) in 1988 as Assistant Professor. He then worked as a post-doctoral fellow (1993-1996) with Roger GUILARD in Université de Bourgogne (Dijon, France) on the Synthesis and study of Macrocyclic molecules based on tetraazamacrocycle. He obtained his Habilitation diploma in 1996 and was promoted to full Professor in 2000 and the Director of the Laboratory of Engineering of Molecular and Organometallic Materials. Since 2007 he is the Head of the Chemistry Department at the Faculté des Sciences de Fès. Professor Lachkar's publications include more than ninety peer-reviewed articles in his specialized area of macrocyclic and coordination chemistry, natural products chemistry, phosphates and phosphites chemistry, and biomaterials. He has co-organized several international conferences and collaborates with many groups around the world.

On the occasion of International Year of Chemistry IYC 2011, Moulay Ismail University (Meknes) and Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University (Fes) organize on 29-30 April 2011 at the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques Errachidia (Morocco), the 6th International Symposium on Organometallic Chemistry and Catalysis “RENACOM 2011”
