I am herewith requesting permission for the use of the 2011 international year of chemistry logo in the 2011 Climate Change Diary.

The Climate Change Diary is a resource about development issues, on the African Continent, aimed at learners from grades 7 to grades 9. The theme for the diary is "climate change impacts on the African continent, linked to the Millennium Development Goals. Uvuyo Trading 103 CC is the publisher of the diary. Uvuyo Trading, a micro enterprise, with Lyzzette September, member/editor of the resource, entered into an association with the South African National Biodiversity Institute to produce the resource.

climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century. It affects every aspect of our lives, our food supply, our biodiversity, deforestation, water resources, health, social services, education, to name a few.

we can therefore safely say that climate change is a development issue.we need to bring these issues, in a responsible funfilled way, to the youth of southern africa. they are the leaders of tomorrow.

this is a resource that is being utilised by teachers and learners alike, where we show the leaders of tomorrow that they have a responsibility towards themselves and their communities to get involved in development issues, if there is to be a tomorrow for their children.

The diary is dependent on sponsor funding on a year to year basis. as much as we need to, we do not make any profits on this resource, except for managing to just about cover the costs.

The diaries are distributed amongst learners and communities the sponsors support.

The aim of the diary is to bring awareness to the youth in southern africa about climate change issues and linking these issues to the MDGS.
