„ The National Science Festival–Zalău, 21st May 2011”

Fourth Edition

Organisers: The Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports Romania, The Sălaj County School Inspectorate and The Technical College Alesandru Papiu Ilarian Zalău, Romania.

The pupils from the pre university level are invited to participate in “The National Science Festival- Zalău”, fourth edition, which will take place on the 21st of May 2011, in the square in front of the prefect’s office of the County Sălaj.

The project’s main activity is the organization of a festival of science that aims at students from high school, secondary school and primary school, teachers and schoolmasters of physics, chemistry, biology and information technology and technique. The festival, offers open access of all members of the community to the results of the scientific activities done in schools.

The manifestation “The National Science Festival- Zalău”, which gained a tradition due to the previous three editions (2008, 2009, and 2010), offers students the opportunity of presenting experimental devices, models, miniatures, scientific projects used or issued from learning physics, chemistry, biology and technology.

The participants are to exhibit their projects on stalls arranged in the centre of the town, trying to present their creativity and share the successful experiences by using scientific projects taken from the textbooks of the respective subjects.

This year, during the festival we will also celebrate “The International Year of Chemistry-2011”. Thus a special stand dedicated solely to this anniversary will be organized, where the students will exhibit posters with subjects proper to chemistry and will present interesting and spectacular chemistry experiments that will later be awarded.

For each section, the assessment will be done by an evaluating board of teachers and the best projects will be awarded.
