About:

I am Education Officer for an Agricultural Society as well as a STEM amabassador with theUniveristy of Worcester. Primarily my role is to educate across the board in Horticulture, Agricultural and Arboriculture and to do this in a fun, imaginative and insipirational way. This year I decided to use the IYC as the catalyst for several projects. At the Malvern Spring Gardening Show 12 - 15 May 2011, in conjuction with STEM and the Uni of Worcester we will run a series for workshops, based on plant life and taking the themes scent, sight, sound ,touch,taste and mystery., with scent we will look at the indivisual extracts and match scent to plants, sound will be through rainmakers, sight /colour we will use UV wand and look at colour extraction, the mystery will be a 'forensic' style workshop using han lenses and microscopes.

We are also running a school garden project wher the children have to design a garden then build an man in through the show, there theme of IYC has insprired them to look at atoms, molecules, chromatography etc and has reallu inmspired them to look at science and chemistry ina new way, we have provided them with STEM workshops.
