About:

As education manager at Catalyst - the only science discovery centre with a focus on chemistry in the UK - it is my role to devise activities that will enthuse and inspire young people of all ages to think about science particularly chemistry. We run workshops and shows for schools, hold family sessions and have a very successful award winning science club for 11 - 18 year olds.

I work closely with teacher training colleges to help them to see the potential of out of the classroom settings in science learning. I also host many primary student teacher placements giving them the confidence to include more hands on science in their lessons.

Although I have a very small team we aim to produce some new and exciting activities for 2011. We will be working with local branches of RSC and SCI among others to put together a range of celebratory events to highlight chemistry.
