About:

I am Meenakshi Agrawal from India. I am a graduate in science. I will make an attempt to create a new world record by writing all the 118 symbols of the periodic table of chemistry in the fastest possible time. I will make this attempt on 22nd Apr 2011 at Press Club of India, New Delhi, at 3 PM.

I am taking this as an opportunity to contribute to the nobel cause of celebrating IYC 2011. I had always wanted to do something which is simple, yet can motivate others and not with much financial implications. During my graduation, my classmates really found it hard to remember the symbols of even 20-30 elements of the Periodic Table. I have accepted this as a challenge.

This may be a unique and rare record. It does not entail any risk or financial support unlike various other records. Anyone can attempt this record. Besides, this is an academic record and can be helpful to students. There is a general conception among students that it is very difficult to learn periodic table and, moreover, writing all the 118 symbols with a great speed and accuracy is a herculean task . But I want to motivate them to learn this table which is heart of chemistry. And one more interesting thing about this record is that this can be tried by each and every one even while doing their studies. So in this sense this will prove to be quite interesting and motivational.
