IYC Interests:Increase the public appreciation and understanding of chemistry
Encourage interest of young people in chemistry
Generate enthusiasm for the creative future of chemistry
We are the Advanced Materials and Industrial Chemistry group within the Applied Sciences Department at the College of Science, Engineering and Health at RMIT University, Melbourne. It goes without saying that chemistry is a big part of our lives. We are particularly interested in the challenges of applying chemical knowledge to industrial scenarios. We undertake exciting research and have many published papers and patents in this field. We are planning a conference for late 2011 and we wanted to link it with the International Year of Chemistry and be part of the celebrations for this year. By including the IYC 2011 logo in our conference material, we would hope to make our delegates even more aware of the many different IYC 2011 events being run throughout the world.
