As the Colegio de Químicos de Costa Rica our mandate is to help and support all activities related to our colegiates, the professional chemist´s working all abroad.

We shall send the message to society about the importance of chemistry in our daily lives, and the relevance of having responsible professionals handling every step in the lyfe-cycle of chemicals in order to obtain the maximum benefits and the smallest negative impacts because of the know-how of the chemists.

I would like to celebrate activities in Costa Rica linked to the international year of chemistry, bringing the stakeholders from academia, industry and the oublic sector on board.

Possibilities include the month of science (August) for activities, perhaps sending relevant notes to the media (eg newspapers), special mail stamps or lottery highlighting some of the great contributions of chemistry for our society
