About:

I am currently director of School of Chemistry at UNAM, the oldest and largest school of chemistry in Latin America. 2011 is also the 95th anniversary of our school that takes care of around 5000 undergrads and 600 grad students. Based on students initiative, we will host the XV Iberia-American Olympics during October 22-29, 2010.

Also I have been appointed by Soquimex (Mexican Chemical Society) to represent the country in 33rd Brazilian Chemical Society where general guidelines for Latin America chemical societies will be established.

Finally I have been involved for 5 years in ANFEQUI (National Association of Chemical Schools and Faculties) where I have been appointed treasurer.

Our plan in conjunction to other local organizations is to convey and organize events that gather a large audience of young people and general audiences to pass the message of the benefits of chemistry to humans well being. For that, support of industry, government, academic icons and other groups is currently on course. This include Nobel Price winner Mario Molina, ANIQ (National Association of Chemical Industry), CONACYT (National Council of Science and Technology) and other organizations.
