I request your attention to the matter which I shall explain. My name is Gabriella Costa Caldeira, I am a student at the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, course "Master in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering”.

Our school organizes every year a conference week; this week is called JORTEC, which means “Jornadas da Tecnologia”, "Days of Technology". During this week is assigned a day for each course, and the event's success is the sole responsibility of the students organizers.

This year’s theme will be "Chemical and Biochemical Engineering in the Future". As a representative of students on the course, and since 2011 is the International Year of Chemistry, I hereby request that the 9th of May is part of the international calendar of activities of the "International Year of Chemistry in 2011".
