After graduating in Biochemistry (6 years) at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina, Luis Fernandez completed a post-degree in Food Science (2 years) at the same University. He immigrated to France in 2002 and is currently living in Belgium.
Mr Fernandez spent most of his working career in the food ingredient sector (Sanofi Bio Industries, DuPont Protein Technologies, Rhodia Food, Danisco). He worked on various assignments from technical service, applications, development to research.
Mr Luis Fernandez is a fellow of the Institute of Food Technologists (www.ift.org) and President-Elect of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (www.iufost.org). Founded in 1970, IUFoST is a non-profit scientific society with the mission of strengthening global food science and technology for humanity. IUFoST represents more than 200.000 food scientists around the globe through 65 adhering bodies.
FOOD CHEMISTRY is fitting well with the IYC and it has to be represented in the program. I would like to request the involvement of IUFoST with your organization to make visible this connectivity and global alignment.
IUFoST is also a full member of ICSU
