Dr. Khysar Pasha

Instructor, Chemical Technology

Dr. Khysar Pasha has received a well-rounded education in Chemistry. He obtained a B.Sc. (Major Chemistry) from Osmania University and an M.Sc., M.Phil. and PhD from Aligarh University. He studied Inorganic, Physical and Analytical Chemistry in M.Sc. majoring in Organic Chemistry.

During his research toward his PhD degree, he was awarded many prestigious Fellowships including Junior and Senior Research Fellowships by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in India.

He has extensive experience in Post-Secondary teaching. He has been teaching chemistry for many years. After completion of his PhD, he also worked as a Lecturer at Aligarh University. After having worked as an Assistant Manager/Research Scientist in the Research and Development Department of a reputed Industry, High Polymer Laboratories in India, he moved to the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong to pursue his Post-Doctoral Studies. At the University of Hong Kong, he did research work in the area of Lipid Chemistry and Analysis. His work at Hong Kong involved extensive organic synthesis and lipid analysis. He obtained good experience with analytical instruments that are used in chemical analysis and published many papers.

He has delivered a number of invited lectures at various International Conferences and Scientific meetings. He was also awarded a UNESCO grant to present his work in South Korea.

Pasha has worked as a researcher for many years at the University of Saskatchewan. After joining the University of Saskatchewan, he gained good experience in the field of Biochemistry. During his career, he has taught and trained many technologists, graduate students, research assistants, chemists and post-doctoral fellows. He has published many research articles including reviews and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals of international repute.

He is an active member of many Professional Scientific Bodies including the Chemical Institute of Canada and the Canadian Society for Chemical Technology. His teaching and research interests include Chemistry in general and Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Ethics and Physical Chemistry in particular.
