About:

My name is Dr. Meliha Zejnilagic-Hajric from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I work at Faculty of Science at University of Sarajevo, Department of Chemistry,as assistant professor.

Department of Chemistry exists at University of Sarajevo from 1950. Year. It is the oldest institution for chemical education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a representative person of Department of Chemistry at Faculty of Science in Sarajevo, I would like to apply our Department of Chemistry to involve in this manifestation. Our Department would like to participate and to mark the International Year of Chemistry by some manifestations at our Faculty.

My area of interest is in the field of Chemical Education, specifically Methodics of Teaching Chemistry and History of Chemistry, and Methodology of writing scientific papers.

I am a leader of Science Education Research Group which works on the project with title „Investigating integrated chemistry and physics conceptual knowledge – the case of science major freshmen at University of Sarajevo". This project will be finished in this academic year, and we plan to present our results using some workshops, seminars or symposium for science teachers in our country. Also, we plan to write a special publication for presenting our results and to extend our research using an opportunity to collaborate with other colleagues in the closer or wider region.
