About:

Xperimania is an educational project designed to enhance the attractiveness of chemistry as a subject in European secondary schools. In 2011 Xperimania will focus on the role of women in chemistry, by organising two competitions:

- Portrait of a woman chemist, who has made an exciting career as a chemist in the students' countries, whether in research or industry. Students to submit a video or a powerpoint presentation drawing a short profile of the woman chemist's career path, passions and goals and providing some insight into her achievements.

- Awareness campaign on women and chemistry by creating various dessimination tools (posters, videos, postcards, blog...) and present a communication plan to increase the interest of female students in chemistry.

The competitions are available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Polish. They will be open from 14 February to 30 September 2011 to 14-21 years old students and prizes will be awarded to the winers in both categories at a ceremony including exhibition and side events organised by Cefic at the end of 2011.
