About:
The Kroto Research Institute (KRI) is based at the University of Sheffield and is a major UK research facility for engineering science at the interfaces between Molecular Science, Engineering Application and Social Impact.
Professor Sir Harry Kroto. the Nobel Prize winner, studied Chemistry at the University of Sheffield and the Institute is named after him.
Sir Harry has strong links with KRI and visits once a year to provide a Buckyball Workshop for local schoolchildren, since he strongly believes in inspiring the scientists of tomorrow and the KRI supports him in this work.
We are interested in supporting the IYC with a view to encouraging young learners to consider a scientific career.
