Our service (httP://egalite.epfl.ch) at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) organizes several activities to promote sciences toward youngsters and especially young girls.

For the International year of Chemistry we organize in collaboration with the chemistry Section (http://sb.epfl.ch/op/edit/page-29789-en.html) of the EPFL 3 chemistry weeks for young girls between 11 and 13 year.

During these weeks children will do chemical experiments specially prepared for them, they will visit chemistry labs and discuss with chemists and chemical engineers.

In addition we have a science bus with which we go to the schools in different regions of Switzerland. More than 2500 children per year visit the exhibition of the interactive experiments in the bus and carry out the hand-on experiments. During 2011, in order to increase the interest of the youngsters in Chemistry, we decided to choose a chemical experiment for the workshop which is held in the bus.
