    The Department of Chemistry "Giacomo Ciamician", consisting of 1 January 1987 , has its origin from the Institute, which descends from the ancient tradition of chemistry at the University of Bologna, in the year 1737 which was established by order of Ferdinando Marsili , a professor of chemistry, first in Italy and accompanying exercises, which was called Jacopo Bartolomeo Beccari.
