An International Picture Contest
Sept 7, 2010The air we breathe, the water we drink and the clothes we wear are only some examples of chemistry in our life. Participants of the “Everything is Chemistry” picture contest illustrated how chemistry is part of their everyday life.
The picture contest recently concluded on June 30th after receiving more than 180 photos. The photographers of the 12 best pictures were awarded in total prizes adding up to 3000 euro at the EuChMS Congress in Nuremberg in late August 2010.
The winners also had their photos appear in a calendar for 2011, shown right. The calendar is available for purchase on the European Young Chemists Network website. The proceeds from the calendar sales will go toward the European Young Chemists Network’s science activities for the International Year of Chemistry 2011.
