Oct 12, 2011IYC 2011 has encountered a worldwide success on this anniversary year of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to Marie Curie. The enthusiasm of youth, teachers, researchers, the contribution of industries and the public’s interest are contributing to creating an international awareness of the importance of chemistry and its vital contribution to the well-being of humankind.

In Brussels, on December 1st will be held the Closing ceremony of the International Year of Chemistry. The IYC closing ceremony will emphasize the creativity and the potential of Chemistry to address the challenges facing our societies. High level speakers and young leaders will explore and debate how chemistry is vital for solving our most critical global problems including food, water, health, energy, habitat, and more.
Students are particularly invited to attend and participate actively at the open debate with Professor Ada Yonath (Nobel Prize Chemistry 2009), Professor Jean-Luc Bredas (Prix Francqui-Georgia Tech. University), and decision makers from the Chemical and life science Industry.
